We are pleased to announce that Tokyo Kintsugi Workshop Tsugu Tsugu Ebisu studio was featured by a magazine “Story” on page 67 in the July 2022 issue. Kobunsha issues well-known Japanese women’s fashion magazines such as “JJ”, “CLASSY”, and “VERY”.
STORY’s model, Waka Nozawa visited Tokyo Kintsugi Workshop TSUGU TSUGU in Ebisu and was photographed with kintsugi vessels in the background. We are grateful that the kintsugi scene matched with the lovely clothes and was picked up as a fashionable lesson for people in their 40s.
The URL of our website was also printed in the article, along with the introduction to our kintsugi lessons.
Currently, the largest number of people who come to Tsugu Tsugu to learn kintsugi are women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, but recently the number of men, people in their 20s, and non-Japanese people has been increasing as well. We will continue to promote kintsugi, a traditional culture handed down from the Muromachi period (1333-1573), as an SDGs activity for the new era.
*When actually doing kintsugi, please wear clothes that can get dirty or with an apron, not sleeveless and white pants as shown in magazines, and arm covers or long sleeves are recommended to prevent lacquer from getting on your arms.
