Traditional Kintsugi Workshop
Join our workshops and learn to repair broken objects dear to you using kintsugi techniques that dates back to the Muromachi period !
It is often said that kintsugi takes a lot of time and that it is a complex craft, but our team of experienced teachers will be there to guide you all along the way. With great teachers, it is not that complicated.
We believe that it is a unique and moving experience to see the result of a repair you have done by yourself, using exclusively natural products.
To complete a full repair, 5 or 6 lessons spread over 12 weeks are necessary on average.
This may seem like a long time, but it makes the experience even more special.
At the moment, we offer kintsugi classes in our Ebisu studio and our Asakusa studio (from May 2022).

One-Hour Kintsugi Discovery Workshop
We have a good news for people who would like to experience kintsugi but do not have the time to commit to a full repair project !
Tsugu Tsugu now offers Kintsugi Discovery Workshops during which you can experience the most interesting part of kintsugi repair: the dusting of gold powder. Tsugu Tsugu will prepare partly pre-restored chipped plates or handmade chopstick rests and you will get to apply the finishing gold layer over their scars !
Once the object dusted with gold has cured, you will be able to take it home (You can pick-up the object at the studio or have it shipped to your address – postal fee not included for international shipping).
Conditions? At least 2 participants.
When ? Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 18:00, and between 16:30 and 18:00 on other days. Let us know your availability per mail and we will suggest several dates.
Supported Languages? English, Japanese.
